Interview with Gail from the School of Stitched Textiles

I was thrilled to be interviewed for the Textile Talk podcast back in February this year. Textile Talk is a podcast hosted by Gail of the School of Stitched Textiles - which is the UK’s largest distance learning centre for online textiles-based courses. There are so many accredited courses available, from knitting and crochet to felt making and quilting. Improve your skills or gain a qualification guided by qualified tutors (many are textile artists) whether you're a beginner or wanting to complete a Master Practitioner course.

Gail was a fantastic host, putting me at ease so it was more like a conversation with an old friend. We covered everything; from learning to knit as a child to why I started my business - the highs, the lows and the bits in between! It is so therapeutic to remind myself why I began this journey and all I've learned along the way. I'm glad that knitting is still one of my favourite things to do and that I'm immersed in woolly surroundings almost every day!

Northern Yarn has introduced me to a whole community of people who support and encourage each other with their craft. I've made so many friends and I know that this successful, small business is thriving because of you and all the help and guidance I've been given along the way. So without further ado - here is the podcast link - make a brew and grab your project, I hope you enjoy our conversation.
